POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College will face Southern University-Shreveport Community College at 8 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the men's basketball NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
The brackets and schedules for the regional tournament were announced Friday, following the conclusion of the MACJC State Tournament on Thursday.
The PRCC-Southern-Shreveport game will be the fourth of four games scheduled at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Mississippi College campus in Clinton.
The winner of that quarterfinal game will face the winner between Mississippi Gulf Coast and East Mississippi at 8 p.m. Friday. The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Region 23 winner advances to the NJCAA National Tournament, to be played March 14-19 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kan.
PRCC comes into the regional tournament with a 16-8 record after falling to East Mississippi 80-73 in the opening round of the MACJC Tournament on Monday. Southern-Shreveport is 18-8 overall.

Noon – Jones County (17-7) vs. Northwest (16-8); 2 p.m. – Holmes (18-6) vs. Northeast (15-9); 6 p.m. – Mississippi Gulf Coast (19-6) vs. East Mississippi (18-7); 8 p.m. – Southern-Shreveport (18-8) vs. Pearl River (16-8).
Friday - Semifinals
6 p.m. – Jones/Northwest winner vs. Holmes/Northeast winner; 8 p.m. – Gulf Coast/East Mississippi winner vs. Southern-Shreveport/PRCC winner.
Saturday - Championship
8 p.m. – Semifinal winners
