The Wildcats fell behind 7-0 early in the opener and were unable to rally in a 7-4 defeat. However, PRCC jumped on the Indians early and often in the nightcap, winning 8-0 in five innings.

Pearl River finished the day 12-14 overall and 4-10 in conference play. Itawamba is 18-8 overall and 7-3 in the MACJC.

Freshman Ilyssa Easton had a pair of doubles to power the Wildcats’ late surge in Game 1, and added a double and a single for a pair of RBIs in the second game to back freshman Krista Robles’ three-hitter.

Pearl River will return to the road for an MACJC doubleheader against Hinds at 2 p.m., then will be back home next Saturday to face East Mississippi.
