The Wildcats lost the opener 14-4 in seven innings, but came back in the nightcap for a 10-6 victory.

With two games remaining in the 2017 regular season, PRCC (24-16 overall, 15-11 conference) remains tied with Mississippi Delta and Northwest Mississippi for fifth place in the MACJC standings. Co-Lin is 19-24 and 13-13.

The top nine teams qualify for postseason, with conference champion Jones County having already secured a bye through the first round of the tournament and into the Region 23 Tournament. The second-place through fifth-place teams will host first-round series.

The Wildcats will complete the regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday at home against Coahoma, and if they sweep the doubleheader they will finish no worse than fifth.

Tuesday at Wesson, the Wolves broke a 4-4 tie in Game 1 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, then added a run in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh to end it early. Simon Landry and Austin Moffett had home runs for PRCC.

In the second game, Jonathan Turner drove in four runs with a homer and two singles, Landry also homered, and Donte Peters had a triple and two singles.

The first round of the playoffs begins May 11, and is a best-of-three game format with the second and third game, if necessary, on May 12. The six-team region tournament will be played at Ellisville beginning May 17.
