Lady Wildcats down Meridian 3-1

Pearl River won its third straight game Tuesday night, winning 3-1 on the road in a South Division game at Meridian

The Lady Wildcats (4-1 overall, 3-1 division) built a 2-0 first-half lead on goals by Sarah Walden (Pascagoula) and Lacey Polderman (Picayune). Walden’s goal in the 11th minute was assisted by Polderman, with Rylee Foster (Ocean Springs) assisting on Polderman’s 22nd minute score.

The Lady Eagles (2-3, 2-2) cut into the margin in the 76th minute with a score, but Kelsey Taylor (Hurley) gave PRCC an insurance goal in the 80th minute on Mellie Snyder’s (Leakesville) team-best seventh assist of the season.

Both PRCC soccer teams return home Friday for the soccer version of the Cat Fight against Jones County. Kickoff for the women’s game is scheduled for 5 p.m. The game will be shown live via webstream on prccmedia.com, which can be accessed through prcc.edu.
